Copperfield Bible Church takes its name from the local community where we are located. Copperfield is an expansive master planned community in the Cy-Fair area of Northwest Harris County, about 20 miles from downtown Houston. Of course, Copperfield is much more than a location but also the community which God has called us to serve.
CBC is an independent, non-denominational, Protestant body of believers with a common love for Jesus Christ. As our name implies, the Bible is our sole guide for faith and practice. We believe in the doctrines of Christianity as taught in Scripture, most importantly as they relate to the nature of God, the person and work of Jesus Christ, and salvation through Him. Although the purpose of every Christian is to glorify that, we believe we can best do that through the faithful exposition and application of God’s Word, which will bring men and women to faith and maturity in our Lord Jesus Christ. Naturally, our beliefs and church leadership have been shaped by our devotion to Scripture, which is to say, CBC is an elder led church based on the New Testament model with a biblically sound doctrinal statement and constitution.
Although we desire to love God’s Word more than our daily food, we also realize that faith leads to action. As such, we encourage every Christian to serve the church according to their gifts. CBC believes very strongly in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to unbelievers and trusting God to do His work through His Word. We do this through local evangelism outreach events and through our financial support of several missionary families.
We delight in the nurturing of future generations and of course, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to them. As such we have a variety of ministries devoted to children, including our annual Vacation Bible School, Sunday School classes, and children’s church (for kids 3 through 6). We also have a nursery for babies or a crying room in the Auditorium for those parents who want to keep their children with them during the service.
Our Sunday service reflects our desire to glorify God and study God’s Word. Sunday School starts at 9:30 AM and the main worship service at 10:45 A.M. We also worship through music. "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord" (Psalm 150:6). The focus of our music ministry is to worship God and edify the believers. We do this primarily through hymns and choruses, many of which are the Word of God to music. We also have an orchestra which provides another means for individuals to offer talents and abilities for the glory of God. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and we hold a fellowship potluck after the service on the second Sunday of every month.
Whether you are new to the area, lived here all your life, or are simply visiting for the weekend, we invite you to join us!
